Piotr Fryczkowski, MD, PhD

Eye Specialist, Medical Director

Head of the Retina Ophthalmological Outpatient Clinic and Hospital. A graduate of the Medical Academy of Warsaw, Dr Fryczkowski holds a second degree specialization in ophthalmology. He furthered his knowledge by attending advanced retinal surgery courses at the Duke University in North Carolina. He is also a graduate of the European VitreoRetinal Training School in Bremen, where he did his specialization under the supervision of Dr Klaus Lucke. Dr Fryczkowski is a member of the Polish Society of Ophthalmology and the European VitreoRetinal Society.

In 2008 Dr Fryczkowski published the first ophthalmic ultrasonography textbook in Poland. He conducts ultrasound courses for ophthalmologists from all over Poland who wish to improve their skills in ocular ultrasonography. Dr Fryczkowski is the laurate of the Polish vitrectomy contest organized by the Central Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of Interior and Administration in Warsaw. In 2004, he organized a cataract surgery unit at Attis hospital in Warsaw.

Dr Fryczkowski started his own medical practice in 2004 and this is when he opened his Ophthalmological Consulting Office – Retina. In 2012 he founded the Retina Ophthalmological Outpatient Clinic and Hospital.

He treats adult and adolescent patients in the outpatient clinic, where he performs full ophthalmological diagnostics and consultations, as well as minor ophthalmological procedures (e.g. intravitreal injections, and laser treatments for glaucoma and retina). He also  works in our hospital, where he performs major ophthalmological procedures, such as cataract surgery, vitrectomy and blepharoplasty.

In Retina Dr Fryczkowski holds the position of the Medical Director and the Principal Investigator in ongoing clinical trials.

He is the author of many scientific publications and medical articles in the field of ophthalmology. He speaks excellent English and is currently learning Japanese.

He is a vegetarian and loves sports. He has been running regularly for several years now, and he has given up driving in favour of cycling. In his spare time (although it is scarce) he writes medical textbooks and he is also an author of a fairy tale for children, which he illustrated himself, as painting and drawing are his real passion.
