A microsurgeon with extensive professional experience. Dr Tesla has taken part in numerous individual clinical training courses in England, Iceland and Germany and many other places. He is a co-author of two important books: ‘Perimetry’ (written with Prof. Jerzy Szaflik), which was the first textbook on visual field testing in Poland, and ‘Glaucoma. Compendium of diagnosis and treatment’ (written with Dr. Jacek J. Kanski). Dr Tesla specializes in surgeries performed on the retina and vitreous body, cataract surgeries and eyelid surgeries. He performs vitrectomy in patients with macular holes, epiretinal membranes, vitreous hemorrhage, retinal detachment, vitreous degeneration, intraocular foreign body, dislocation of natural or artificial lens in the vitreous chamber.
In the field of lens surgery, dr Tesla performs cataract surgeries in older and younger patients. He operates on complicated cataracts, mature cataracts, subluxated cataracts, and cataracts dislocated in the vitreous chamber, and also performs secondary intraocular lens implantation. He uses monofocal, toric and multifocal lenses that enable the patients to stop wearing glasses; he selects the right type of multifocal lens to match the patient’s individual needs. Dr Tesla is also involved in qualifying patients for intravitreal injections, and preforms laser therapies, such as capsulotomy, laser iridotomy and iridoplasty, and laser photocoagulation.
He has extensive experience in performing ultrasound of the eyeball.
